Day One - NeVer ForgeT

Today we began our journey South. Our first day was primarily filled with familiar roads as we wove our way through the Roanoke Valley. After sandwiches by the river in Buchanan, we made our way over to Virginia Tech for a bit reminiscing. It is hard to believe that Carl and I graduated almost three years ago now.

After grabbing a spot along the Drill Field, we exposed J.D. to campus life. He was a huge fan of the beautiful Blacksburg grass. Our visit was very timely, April 16th had just passed, and we felt that we should stop by the Memorial and pause a moment. While Carl and J.D. chilled on the lawn, I walked about and caught some images.

Pulling out of Blacksburg, we made way into new territory. Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee was our final stop to make camp. We found a nice little spot with a view of South Holston Lake. With lake side accommodations, dinner preparations began. On the menu? Campside Buffalo Quesadillas with a side of ranch. Mmmmm!

J.D. is taking well to the nomadic lifestyle, and we're certainly glad to be on the road again!
